Rovos Rail's three- and four-night Victoria Falls journeys carry the same fare, with US-dollar pricing now published for American travelers.

The four-night departure is the one we point Americans toward, and the reason is arithmetic — the extra day is not charged.”

FRUITA, CO, UNITED STATES, August 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Luxury Rail Safaris, an official US agent for Rovos Rail, has published US-dollar pricing for the Victoria Falls journey aboard the Pride of Africa, a three- or four-night run between Pretoria and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The four-night departure carries the same fare as the three-night and adds an excursion to Matobo National Park. Full details are published at https://luxuryrailsafaris.com/rovos-victoria-falls.

The route runs north from Rovos Rail's private station at Capital Park, Pretoria, into Zimbabwe and through the country's baobab country to Bulawayo, its old railway city. A private game drive in Hwange National Park, gazetted in 1928, is scheduled for the final full day. The train ends at Victoria Falls station, steps from the Victoria Falls Hotel and the 1905 bridge over the gorge. The journey runs in both directions through the season.

The pricing structure is unusual. On most itineraries, an additional night carries an additional fare. On this route, the four-night departure is sold at the three-night rate, with the extra day given to Matobo National Park in the granite hills south of Bulawayo. Travelers choosing the shorter version retain access to Rovos Rail's themed Collections add-ons, which are available only for the three-night departures. A route guide written for American travelers is published at https://luxuryrailsafaris.com/blog/pretoria-to-victoria-falls-train.

The train itself is rebuilt vintage stock, with candlelit dining cars, an observation car with an open-air balcony, and no televisions or radios by design. Suites come in three classes, from the Pullman at about 76 square feet to the Royal at about 172. Dinner calls for jacket and tie.

Rates are per person sharing, one way. For the 2026/27 season, Pullman suites are $3,950, Deluxe suites are $5,650, and Royal suites are $7,400. For 2027/28, the figures are $4,550, $6,550, and $8,550. The single supplement is 50 percent. Accommodation, all meals, onboard beverages, room service, limited laundry, guided excursions, transfers, entrance fees per itinerary, and government tax are included. The journey is priced by Rovos Rail in South African rand; dollar figures are approximate, converted at July 2026 rates, and subject to change until confirmed in writing at booking.

"The four-night departure is the one we point Americans toward, and the reason is arithmetic — the extra day is not charged," said Dick Kennerknecht, Rovos Rail specialist at Luxury Rail Safaris. "Americans fly a long way to reach this train. One more night aboard for the same fare is the easiest recommendation we make."
